Short description

Westerwälder is a breed, which gives the herding instinct on to the next generation. This breed as a healthy protective instinct for humans and animals alike, which can surface even without a command. They are particularly suitable as a companion for horses and as a rescue dog, as well as for agility and other sports. They can also be used as guard and protection dogs. However, they need a confident person with experience to be their owner, as they tend to test their boundaries all the time.

This information is indicative and adheres to the breed standard. Each animal is an individual and has a personal character, as well as its own needs. Thus, a breed is not a guarantee of certain behaviors, etc.
