FCI description
Dogs of this group were not bred to fulfill a certain function (hunting, hating, ...), but to be a good companion for humans. They look very different, also character-wise they vary strongly. Many are self-confident, social and lovable. With loving education and enough species-appropriate occupation, you can find here a pleasant and faithful companion in the everyday life, who can adapt mostly well.
Short description
The French Bulldog has a very friendly and fierce character, and always keeps his cool. Be aware that due to over-breeding some individuals tend to have very flat noses, which leads to breathing problems during long physical exercises. There are however, some breeders who do not breed for those flt noses anymore. Sometimes the French Bulldog wants to run more than his body measurements allow, which leads to stress. Therefore, this breed is suitable for less active people, who love to spend time with their dog.
This information is indicative and adheres to the breed standard. Each animal is an individual and has a personal character, as well as its own needs. Thus, a breed is not a guarantee of certain behaviors, etc.
