Short description
The Boerboel or South African Mastiff is primarily an independent, territorial protection dog. He is very alert and indicates the smallest changes in his environment. They are very protective of their family and guard house and farm with their life. They are very sensitive and notice every feeling of their family. They act fearless, bold and are very independant. Boerboels mistrust strangers and are sceptical around them. They are not really compatible with conspecifics. Next to a soft but firm training a good and early socialization is of utmost importance.
